Now is a great time for people that actually have money...boy, don't I wish I was one of them! Tons of companies have some kind of reward or incentive programs, even hotels. It's almost surprising that doctors don't too. LOL I knew that there was some sort of thing for hotels but didn't know really what it was. In my hunt for a vacation I found a thing that said Econo Lodge American values contest. I didn't find a contest but saw that they offer a reward program to earn free hotel stays. Apparently there are others doing the same thing. It's great if you travel on a semi normal basis but for me it's not so good. Regardless, the deals and sales that are out there are pretty darn good now and it's almost guaranteed that everyone can find something within their budget for just about anything...pretty cool if you ask me!

I'm Bored...
I must have one of THE most boring lives known to man. I'm at home all day everyday doing the same thing. Nothing new comes my way unless it happens to me. lol Ugh, I feel like I'm just sitting here wasting time even though I've been wanting to stay home for a while now.
I wish I would have taken advantage of liking where I worked when I was there. I did a little but the everyday grind and traffic made it tough. Then there were the constant changes to our POS systems that drove us all nuts. They never said anything until it rolled out and then we all looked like we didn't have a clue as to what we were doing. i do miss my co-workers though. We all laughed and had a bunch of fun...most of the time. There were always the few that would stir things up and make it hard but most of the time we had fun. I wish I could have stayed part time but now things aren't the way they used to be anyway so it's a good thing I left when I did. I guess things work out for a reason...that doesn't mean I'm not still bored though. LOL
Earth Day '09 - Tip #2
Here's one more Earth Day tip for you...thrift store shopping. Okay, it does take some effort to find what you need but it's one of the best ways to ensure that things that don't need to be in a landfill get reused. The best part is that some things are totally brand new and it costs half as much. Garage and estate sales are fantastic too. I've picked up some really great things that I was looking for and all it needed was a little paint. Lots of people shop this way to save money or find some unique collectibles and don't realize what a great thing they are doing. It's always good not having to think about exactly what you're doing and it's impact. If we all can get into routines of some sort then we won't have to think much about that at all. Do your part!
No Visuals
Have you noticed that something is missing from here? No pictures. My camera broke a while back and I can't figure out which one I want. Of course the one I really would like is way out of my price range. All I really need is some point and shoot thing but I would like something a little better. I am really glad that the price of digital cameras has come down so much. The down side is that for the price I paid for the last camera I could have gotten something a lot better now. Figures. LOL Well at least this time I'll have more choices for my price range so that's a plus. I miss having pictures to post.

Saving Time
I'm not doing too well with this right now. LOL It seems like I never have enough hours in the day to do everything I need to do...especially when you have kids.
I always thought that the internet was a great time saver until lately. I'm on checking everything from how to purchase car insurance online to where to buy the cheapest clothes. And then. of course, there's all the random stuff that I do that is a complete waste. Iming, Facebook messages, playing games...it just goes on and on. LOL By the end of the day I'm wondering where all the time went. Hmmm...I wonder. ;o)
Earth Day '09 - Tip #1
In honor of Earth Day coming up, I thought that I'd post a few helpful tips through out the next week or so to help us out. We've all heard about turning off lights when we leave the room but there are always other creative ways to save ourselves.
Plant a garden:
Duh, this one's been around and there's nothing really new with it but growing your own veggies can not only help financially and is healthier as far as pesticides but it also reduces fuel emissions because you aren't buying things that are transported especially foreign grown produce. Using your empty egg cartons is a great way to start your seedlings since you can plant them directly in the ground!
Unemployed?
Join the club! lol It's not a club that I'd be happy to toot about but at least we know we're not alone. The one thing that annoys me is that we hear all the reported numbers on the news of how many people applied for unemployment but what they don't tell you is how many people are REALLY unemployed. Why is it that?! Because they don't know! There are SO many people that don't qualify for any programs and are living in tents or in their family's driveway and NO ONE says anything about them. It has to be one of the biggest reasons why I want to throw the TV out the window when I'm watching the news. Like I care how many Wall St jobs were lost when there are hoards of people not able to feed themselves out there. Come on people...WAKE UP! Unemployment numbers mean almost NOTHING.
TV Troubles
Our TV is on the brink of black-out and I'm actually excited about it. We have an older one that was a hand me down and as nice as it is it's huge with a built in sub-woofer. We don't really have the money to replace it but I will anyway. LOL I have hated having to have a TV stand in my room taking up space. We used to have the TV on top of a dresser but then this thing came in and there's no way we could do that anymore.
The TV went out the other night and my heart actually skipped a beat. LOL I'm really hoping that we can get a flat panel and mount it on the wall instead of having a plasma stand. It would be super nice to have one less thing in there and have more room for something else. the bad thing would be to have to find some where for the VCR, DVD, and all the movies though. Ugh, maybe it won't work out after all. lol
Hi There!
I hope everyone had a happy Easter and a restful spring break, if you got one. We were busy as usual here, trying to get things done while everyone was home at the same time is always a chore. This year was super nice and the rain stopped right before Sunday so it was dry and actually a little too warm where we went. It was a really good say though. We had tons of food (more than normal) so everyone had more than enough for once.
Potlucks can often be a scary thing. LOL The mix of food that showed up was rather interesting though. We had everything from cold Vietnamese spring rolls to spaghetti. Over the last few years we have ordered food out and split the cost because people decided that a dish would be a box of dino nuggets with some ketchup. Not quite my idea of effort if you ask me. It's much nicer not having to use a calculator before going home this time. LOL

Leaving For Vegas
I'm SO jealous! My friend took an early flight to Las Vegas this morning and is staying through the weekend. Sometimes I wish that I was single and didn't have much to pay so that I could go do that kind of stuff too. :o( lol He claims that the only reason that he could even go is because he found some hotel reservation promo. Whatever. No matter what...I wanna be him for a day. Um, ok, maybe not HIM but as close as I can get without becoming a 6'7 black guy with some extra cash to spend. LMAO He'd better bring me something good back!
