I just finished a book where a woman's husband and some of her children were killed and how she survived it. It was complete fiction but there was one thing that stuck with me, the insurance. Her husband had bought a policy large enough that she would be well taken care of the rest of her life, and she in turn did the same for her surviving son. I really wish I could afford something like that for our kids, but at this point I'll settle for anything until I can do something more for them. Coming from a family that didn't ever have a lot makes me worry that they'll be in the same position when we go too. I know at this point we're most likely too young to get something like guaranteed issue life insurance but at least we can look into things and figure out what we can do for later. I'd really hate to leave them stuck in the end.
